Daughter of Brother Mac Butcher '89 Releases First Movie

Hello everyone,

I have some exciting news to share. I have spoken to many of you about this and it has finally come to fruition. My daughter, Nancy Taylor, has produced a beautiful feature film which will be released through multiple channels on September 11th. She founded Ghost Rain Pictures in 2016 and this is their first movie. It is available now for pre-order through iTunes and the link is attached below. If you go to the link you can see the trailer for the movie. In support of the Arts and Independent Film in general, please consider pre-ordering this “achingly authentic coming-of-age film." I am certain that you will enjoy this movie!

This has been an incredible ride, starting with locking-in the rights to the screenplay from first time writer/director Nick Naveda back in 2016. Once the financing for the movie was raised, with the help of Associate Producer Lydia Butcher (yes, my wife), they went through a casting process and locked-in a host of amazing actors and actresses (you may recognize a few) and a crack film crew with many years of experience. They shot the film 2 years ago over an intense 15 days in Los Angeles. I have watched the development of the film from the beginning and it is truly amazing where it has ended up. It went from a two-and-a-half hour unpolished first cut to a beautifully paced, hour-and-a-half film with an original soundtrack and vivid color and detail. The editing was painstaking, leaving a lot of film on the cutting room floor but the results are stunning and the film has been super well-received.

The film debuted on the film festival scene in 2017 at the Seattle International Film Festival. It went on to win best feature at the Jersey Shore Film Festival and it was also featured prominently in the Florida Film Festival earlier this year in Orlando, where we got to see it on the big screen for the first time. Nancy successfully struck a deal with Gravitas Ventures, a seasoned film distribution company, to distribute this remarkable indie film. Gravitas has passed along the following list of where it will get initial distribution on 9/11:
