Rising sophomore Danny Leiser may have been unsure about his major when he arrived at Penn, but there was one thing of which he was certain—Sigma Chapter of Zeta Psi.

I was not like Zete’s usual rushees,” he explains. “I came to the house late in the process, but pushed hard to meet guys and see how I would fit in because I had heard only good things from my high school teacher and soccer coach David Zimmerman '89. He strongly recommended that I give Zete a shot after enjoying his time at Penn as a brother in the late ’80s. I took his advice and am very happy that I did.”

Part of the draw for Danny was Zeta Psi’s history, diversity, and prestigious reputation.

“No other organization could boast such a proud and illustrious past with the likes of CEOs, Hollywood producers, men of service, and many others,” he explains. “The brothers of Zeta Psi also offered me a window into many different cultures and walks of life that I would have never experienced had I not become so close with them through the fraternity.”

In addition to settling into a brotherhood he truly enjoys, Danny has also now selected a field of study and transferred to the School of Engineering. Though he’s unsure what the future holds for him, he’s eager to explore the computer science field and learn more about his career options.

“My current goals are more short-sighted,” he explains. “[I want to] fully enjoy my time at school and meet and connect with as many people at Penn as possible by the end of my four years.”

Zeta Psi will certainly play a big part in forming those connections, which will serve him later in life as he strives to make a mark in his profession and personal life. We’re so glad that David Zimmerman shared his Sigma experience with Danny and helped him find his way here!
