The biggest news out of the chapter is that 14 spectacular freshmen have committed to pledge the Sigma this year. This will be the largest number of new members of the chapter in a long time and is a real compliment to the current actives’ hard work and dedication to bringing together impressive individuals and maintaining its first-class reputation on campus.

The actives have also been quite involved in University activities, as well as pursuing their own personal interests. Tyler Tananbaum (Junior) was recently elected as President of the Wharton Real Estate Club and Benton Turner (Junior) has been involved in forming a college doubles squash circuit. Two actives, Christian De Abreu (Sophomore) and Elliot Taylor (Sophomore) have been showing off their musical skills by playing live shows in various Philadelphia establishments. Current Phi, Sam Gerson (Junior), joined with fellow active, Elliot Ismail (Junior), and won the Inter-Fraternity Pool Tournament Championship. Also Paul Asselin (Sophomore) spent months training and just recently completed his first marathon.

The Sigma Chapter continues to be the preeminent fraternity at The University of Pennsylvania and is one where every active is proud to be a member.
